Job Description

Applicants must have demonstrated, verifiable experience in software and systems engineering as well as the ability to properly prioritize, status, and work multiple tasks. Applicant should possess ability and desire to work within a small group of individual contributors.

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Member of the Strategic Battle Command systems, software development or engineering team(s) located in Springfield, VA. Specific job responsibilities will include:

• Function as a member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) focused on the development of applications, SOA infrastructure, COTS/GOTS/FOSS integration and an Oracle database.
• Research and develop Service Oriented Architecture web enabled applications.
• Applicant must have a working knowledge of Oracle 10g.
• Work with software architects and technical leads to identify and implement web-based architecture.
• Write user documentation
• Support software and system integration testing for developed applications.
• Army and Battle Command (BC) domain knowledge is a big plus

Qualification Requirements

We are not looking for managerial, architectural, or database administrative experience levels. We need a strong report developer that meets the following criteria:

• Mid-Tier MUST have Oracle SQL experience and report development experience.
• Experience with techologies in List B is a plus.
• Low-Tier MUST have Oracle SQL experience
• All candidates MUST have coding experience with the required technologies.
• Candidates have development tool experience to include SQL Developer or SQL
• Navigator is a plus.
